Edwin was a fine man, an outstanding father and a valued colleague for several years after which we did connect but not in recent years. So I am sorry to have overlooked his passing until now. How sad that his health declined especially because he was such a high-energy active person. Edwin cherished his three children (whom I had met when they were quite small) and I'm happy that Edwin found happiness again with Susan later in life. When circumstances permit, I plan to plant a tree in his honour in Kingston ON. Condolences from Michael Oster & Family

This may sound strange, but every time I approach a roundabout here in Orleans, I remember Edwin.
I had picked him up a few years ago to go to a meeting, and after I drove through the new roundabout at St. Joseph and Jeanne d'Arc Blvd., he said, "I noticed that you didn't signal." He then explained the proper procedure for entering and leaving the circle - something I have done religiously ever since.
Ed was also a member of the choir at Orleans United when I led the music ministry there. I appreciated his musicality and his strong reading abilities as a tenor - both were a great support to the other voices around him.
We rarely saw each other over the last few years, but I thought of him often - I always appreciated his calm, gentle spirit and his sense of humour.
My prayers are with you all.

Je me permets de vous écrire en français puisque qu'Edwin prennait régulièrement le temps de pratiquer son français avec moi au travail ; ce qui créait fréquemment des échanges très intéressants : des moments qui me manqueront. J'appréciais particulièrement sons sens de l'humour et sa recherche constante de faire des jeux de mots. Il était fier de ses enfants et de sa "partner", il parlait souvent de vous. We are so sad to hear the news of the death of our cousin Edwin. We will always have happy memories of our times together in Sussex, Cornwall and London. My sincere condolences to Edwin's family and friends. I had worked with Edwin for the better part of 35 years. Edwin was a very talented organizer, and a personal motivator to many people. He quickly took anyone who shared his zest for excellence into his fold. Those who knew Edwin well were always the recipient of a wry little pun which he could insert into every conversation.
