My condolences to Bob's family. I worked with Bobby at DND, and learned a lot about the "safety" world from him, and in particular how to write about it! Missed Bob when he retired and very saddened to hear of his passing.

I am saddened to hear that Bob has passed away! I worked with Bob when he was the editor of the Safety Digest at Directorate of General Safety from 2000 until his retirement. I remember his joy for life, quick smile and great sense of humour! Bob's tenaciousness and strong work ethic were key to his success as the editor. I learned a lot from him in the many conversations we had on a myriad of topics. I wish to express my deepest condolences to his family and friends in this difficult time, you can take comfort in the fact that Bob made a positive difference in the lives of all those he touched! He will be missed!

I was very saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. We met first at the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps School and we remained friends over the next several decades of our careers. He had a larger than life personality and will be missed by his many RCASC and Logistics friends. My extend my sincerest condolences to his family.

Bob was a small man with a huge heart and a booming voice! He could "out quip" anyone in both official languages and saw the bright side no matter how dark the circumstances. We never served together, but were often connected in various projects and courses during our service..
My condolences to his family who are left with a large empty spot with his passing.

Louise & Family,
I was very much saddened of the news of Bob's passing. When at Surgenor Truck Center it was my absolute pleasure to deal with you in your new truck purchase in the mid 2000's. Please accept my deepest sympathy and know that the world has lost a true character. Also, to thank Bob and you in support of his service to Canada.
Not forgotten
Respectfully
Hank McTavish

Bob and I trained together and served as platoon commanders together in 3 Service Battalion, Transport Company, in 1967/68. Then towards the end we served together in the Directorate off Logistics Operations. He never got the credit for the outstanding officer he was, always one of the best. You will be missed, Bob.
