Obituary of Wayne Colbon
Wayne Colbon
February 9, 1953 - April 11, 2019
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wayne on April 11th, 2019 after a courageous three-year battle with ALS. He leaves behind his loving wife, Maureen, of 33 years. He was a devoted and proud father of his two sons, Justin (Josianne) and Aaron (Jenna). He will be greatly missed by his brother Doug (Maggie) of Thunder Bay, and all other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Irene of Espanola, ON.
Wayne always had fond memories of his early-life in Espanola. He was a big sports fan who grew up idolizing Bobby Orr. His passions included watching and playing golf, coaching hockey and volunteering in the community. Wayne was a dog lover, especially being ‘dog father’ to his beloved sheltie, Tanner. He loved to listen to classic rock and roll - his favourite song being “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple. Wayne had a great sense of humour, and loved to laugh and smile.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the ALS clinic, ALS society ,PSW's from Paramed, nurses at Bayshore, Dr. Vincent, Dr. Souchen, and the staff at the May Court Hospice. Wayne received the best possible care with the help of all these wonderful professionals.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held Thursday, April 18th, 2019, at the Heritage Funeral Home, 1250 Trim Road, Orleans from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS society of Canada https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/DonationPage.aspx?eventid=214165&langpref=en- or the Maycourt Hospice in Ottawa http://CA&utm_campaign=website&utm_source=home&utm_medium=button.
