Obituary of D'Arcy Bush
“I’VE LIVED A GREAT LIFE”
D’Arcy left us for another great life on October 18, 2018. His beautiful spirit is carried on by Natalie, his treasured wife of 25 years, his two children Keana and Chazka who were his pride and joy, his parents Muriel and Bill and his two brothers Darrell (Veronica) and Randy, all of whom he cherished, and numerous extended family members and friends whom he respected and loved.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Join us to celebrate D’Arcy’s life, his strength, and his joie de vivre at the Heritage Funeral Complex (1250 Trim Rd, Orleans) on October 27th from 3:30-7:00pm with service at 6:30pm, followed by a reception with food by Occo Kitchen, drinks, and live music by Simon and Jesse from 7-11pm, all at the Heritage Complex. D’Arcy loved music, especially blues, and he wished that we all get together and reminisce about the good times.
YOU ARE ALL WELCOME!
D’Arcy was a brilliant, loving, witty, kindhearted, courteous, athletic, and yes, a handsome man. He was passionate about sports and spent many years playing hockey, lacrosse, and soccer, and he adored coaching kids. One of his strengths was that he always prioritized their well-being and made sure they had fun and received positive feedback while learning. His legacy ~ particularly his character and values ~ will live on forever in our lives and in our hearts. As per his wishes, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Canadian Centre for Mental Health and Sport (ccmhs-ccsms.ca/support-us). This Centre’s mandate aligns with his values and to honour his legacy, a mental health fund for athletes and coaches is being created in his name.
We are blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from this incredible man and to have laughed our hearts out during his 51 years. These are reflected in some of his sayings that we have loved hearing over the years. J
D’ARCYISMS
“A good game’s a quick game. Don’t make your lack of organization my problem. Ask your mom, I only have 12$ in my bank account. As long as you work hard and give it your all, that’s all that counts. Have many friends in life. Clean your room. Go with the natural look. Turn on the music. Is there a lake I can swim across? Go out there and have fun. When I was young, I had to walk with my hockey bag to the rink. Winning isn’t everything. If you’re not ready in 5 min, I’m leaving. I made some good soup. Your task, should you choose to accept, is… We really don’t need all this stuff. I’m off for a run. Everything in moderation. Good show. I wish you all the best. Ch’t’aime gros mon amour.”
