Obituary of Martin Leigh

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Douglas Leigh on March 28, 2018 at the Ottawa General Hospital, at the age of 60.  He was surrounded by family and loved ones at the time of his passing and will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour, positive demeanour, and eternal optimism.  He will be deeply missed by his daughters Kelsey and Kaitlin and their mother, Jenie.  He will be dearly missed by his daughters Kristin and Courtney and grandchildren Cameron, Josephine, and James.  Marty was a person of high integrity who was passionate about his work.  He had a profound impact on many people he worked with and mentored during his distinguished career at the Canada Revenue Agency.  In his retirement, Marty had many interests including travelling, tinkering with his Bricklin, grabbing a pint with his friends at Jonny Canuck’s, and taking in the great outdoors at the family property at Gun Lake in British Columbia.  A celebration of life will be held at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd. in Orleans, on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or a blood donation to the Canadian Blood Services would be greatly appreciated.  Condolences can be made at www.heritagefh.ca.
