Obituary of Noreen Plant

In a room filled with love and holy anticipation, Noreen Plant took her final breath. “I overcame, I won the battle.” These were Noreen’s last words.  Cancer may have conquered her body but not her spirit. Noreen Ann Plant passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 25th, 2018 at the age of 72. Noreen had a dedicated career at Canada Post for 33 years, most notably as the Divisional VP of the Association Postal Officials of Canada (APOC). She dedicated her life to everyone around her, teaching children in the ideals and the practices of their faith.  She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, a hockey mom and perhaps famous for providing a taxi-like service to all in need. Noreen was a wonderful wife to Gary, her husband.  Loving mother to A.J. (Chantal), Maynard (Kanae), Linette (Mike Wyshynski), Rev. Fr. Gerard, Blaise (Kana) and Erin. Cherished grandmother to Mackinleigh, Makiya, Francis, Noah, Helenna, Trinity, Elisha, Emillia, Nia, Quinn, and Valentine. She will also be missed by her siblings Albert (Pauline), Eileen, Frances Riou (Bob), Bernadette and Jimmy (Brenda); her many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and of course her dog Shiloh, all whom loved her dearly and will never forget her caring, generous and joyful spirit.  She will remain in our hearts forever. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd. (corner of Taylor Creek Dr.), Orléans, on Monday, January 29th, 2018 from 9AM-11AM and 1PM-3PM and 6PM-9PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Church, 3092 Innes Road, Ottawa on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 at 11AM.  Catering provided by The Sisters of the Queenship of Mary Community.
