I just found out Ross had passed away. I really enjoyed Ross coming to my fiddle nights in Orleans. He was a bit shy to play with everyone and would sit in a corner and set himself up. I realized he was happy and comfortable there. So, I would make a point each week to have his chair ready for him when he arrived which he often commented he was touched by my gesture of kindness. I I enjoyed getting to know Ross over the years he attended these jams.
Sorry for your loss.

You never know how someone will touch your life. I was a close colleague with Ross in 1985 when I started my career with RCMP/CSIS, and he was an integral part of my work life. I am saddened that he has departed, and I am truly sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in your family and in your memories during this time. It’s never easy saying goodbye to someone you love. Prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

“What can one say about the admirable qualities displayed in Ross’ character? Ross was always good natured and sociable. He displayed a knack for engaging people in conversation. He was considerate of others around him. Mr. Helpful, indeed displaying a willingness to assist others completing various projects. Resourceful, smart and skillful were traits developed in a variety of vocations held. He spent hours helping out with various jobs at his local church. Ros took pride in raising colonies of bees for a number of years. When visiting out West, he found time using his skills to complete a staircase, built a unique fence door and assisted insulating part of a garage. Ross kept himself in very good condition. He played slo-pitch baseball, curling and enjoyed playing the fiddle. Jan and I accompanied my sister, Pat and Ross on a number of ventures abroad. We bought time shares together and vacationed in Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and wonderful cities and countries in Europe.
Other qualities that I admire about Ross was his kindness and devotion to family. He loved dearly his daughter Tonya, and son Rob. Also, developed strong relationships and love with his adopted Hill family, Jennifer, Laura and Matt. But, I will remember most his devotion and love for my sister, Pat. May you rest in peace Ross, as Jan and I, daughter Jessica and son, Jeff will miss you dearly.” Vic

My sincere condolences to all the family. I have so many wonderful memories of Ross as we worshipped and sat on Council together for many years at St. Andrew's. He was always there to support the church in every way. So helpful and creative, from our church floats for the Navan Fair parade, Children's Christmas parties and talent shows. So much joy and laughter has been shared with this great guy. Ross will be so deeply missed. Judy Hayward
