You were in my thoughts a great deal recently as I made your Shrimp Mousse recipe. The recipe you made for the first time for my parents 25th Anniversary Party which you and Uncle Brian so graciously hosted. Sometimes it takes passage of time to see and appreciate the people who are in your life.
A Shrimp Mousse and arriving at your house with you rushing to finish vacuuming the carpet is what stands out in my memory. The reality is you cooked and cleaned for weeks prior to the anniversary party, hosted the entire family, paid for quite a large portion of the cost that young Janet and I couldn't afford so that my Mom & Dad could be surprised. You were a Very Special Person.
I picked up the phone to reminisce and tell you what you mean to me ... so I'm sending this to Heaven to say Thank you for Being You Auntie Wendy .... I love and miss you.

Dear Mike, Jess, Wyatt, Dakota and all the Kennedy family. Wendy was an amazing woman that I am so grateful to have gotten to know over the past 11 years. I always enjoyed our pool side chats where we would chat about the kids their sports and how she rekindled her friendship with my mom. They grew up together as kids in Crawford Park and were reunited by their grandchildren friendship. Wendy was an angel on earth and will continue to be all your guardian angels in heaven. Our deepest condolences to all of you. Love Jenn, Scott, Nathan and Josh Morrison

Dear Cheryl, Sharon and Michael and families
I am so blessed to have had your Mom and Grandmother's friendship for over 40 years.
I will always cherish the many laughs, experiences through our travels on the cruise and when we were able to take her to Victoria Island and Seattle as well as the many memories of time spent in Orleans and Ottawa. Let us not forget the happy times spent when we lived next door to your family on Stoneboat Crescent and had the privilege to share time in your pool.
The many telephone conversations over the years listening to her speak of all of you with so much love and pride.
She was the kindest and most loving person I have known and not once did I ever hear her complain.
Wendy was an intelligent capable lady who worked diligently and effectively in helping to manage the business and never quit. i so admired her silent strength and she never looked for praise.
I will miss her friendship but i am so fortunate and blessed to have known this lovely lady and to have shared her friendship.
The memories we all carry in our hearts will help to ease the pain and keep her ever present in our hearts.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Wendy’s passing. Our condolences.
Wendy was our unofficial Ottawa ambassador when we moved to Orleans many years ago. Since then, it was a joy getting to know her and sharing many hours together in my salon chair and at family get togethers when Shayne’s parents would visit.
She was truly a loving, kind and wise person. Her focus on family and thoughtful advice will continue to inspire all who knew her.
We will share her memory and tell her story.

Dear Cheryl, Ken, Sharon, Geoff, Michael and Jessica and Grandchildren... My heart goes out to you all with Love and Deepest Sympathy with the loss of your Very Special Mom. She loved you all so much and was so very proud of you. And Wayne and Mary and family my Love and Sympathy to you.
This is in Memory of a Life so Beautifully Lived and a Heart so Deeply Loved ...
Wendy was like a sister to me and I am proud that we come from the same 'Family Tree'
I have so many wonderful memories of Wendy - such a beautiful person.. so kind, so gentle and so special.. she exuded Love..
My first memory goes back to April 1947 on the day she was born.. I went with her very proud Dad to the hospital in Gaspe to see her Mom and her and twin brother Wayne. I was 10 years old and so excited to see them. . After her family moved to Montreal we always looked forward to their summer vacation visits with us in Gaspe. She was the cutest little girl who grew up to be one of the most wonderful women I would ever know And when I moved to Montreal her Mom and Dad (my Aunt and Uncle) gave me a home with them when I first started to work in Montreal. Wendy was a sweet little 7 year old and she became like a sister to me . In later years we shared so many family dinners, parties, visits when we all lived in Crawford Park and LaSalle. And she was my daughter's Godmother which was special. We shared Christmas Dinners,. And Christmas 1957 My Mom and Dad and family spent many lovely days visiting at Wendy's Mom and Dad's and we had a wonderful Christmas together . In later years New Year's dinner at Mother Martins (a dinner club in Montreal with lovely music) my children and I were so often included in their special family times. Wendy and I shared summer vacation in Gaspe , we went to see Mamma Mia at Place des Arts Montreal, went together to our cousin's anniversary celebration in the townships... So many memories..
And after they moved to Ottawa - with every time we visited her , Wendy always gave us such a warm and wonderful welcome in her home. I loved my visits with her and I will treasure my last visit June 2019 when my daughter Darlene and I spent a lovely weekend with her. We went to our cousin Evan's 90th birthday party where we visited a lot of the Patterson family. That evening Darlene took Wendy and I out for dinner . So happy we had that time with her.
And now most of all I will miss our phone calls .. we often visited by phone two or three times a week . And very often we passed a Saturday evening or any day reminiscing about our memories, sharing our children's and grandchildren's latest happenings and achievements with so much pride. And because we both lived alone we kept each other company and had so many lovely visits by phone.
Wendy. you will be dearly missed .. I will miss those phone calls so very much... I miss them already.
May your beautiful soul rest peacefully Love you Kathleen

Cheryl, Sharon, Mike and family...our deepest condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. I have many fond memories of Wendy...growing up on Stoneboat Crescent, any time as kids we came over she would encourage us to sit for a while with her in the kitchen while she caught up on our lives and how our family was doing. In recent years as an adult while I was in Ottawa for business I would stay overnight with her and she would prepare a home cooked meal and we would sit in her dining room and catch up. She always cared about what was going on in your life, how your kids and parents were doing. She will be greatly missed, may you rest in peace. - Louise McConnell

My sincerest and most heartfelt sympathies to Cheryl, Sharon, Michael and your families on the loss of your dear Mom/Nanny. I am still in disbelief that she is no longer with us. Our parents were best of friends and Wendy and I continued the tradition. We became not only friends, but confidantes . We would sit and talk for hours......we laughed, we cried, we shared both our worries and happy times.... but one thing that always remained constant was her love of her family and how blessed she was. Wendy's kind and gentle nature was a gift to all who knew her ... she had a strong will and loved life.
I will miss you sweet Wendy. You were and always will be "my special friend".

Dear Cheryl, Sharon and Michael, your dear children and to Wayne, Mary and family
I was so deeply sorry to learn of Wendy’s passing. My deepest condolences to you all in the loss of a beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and sister. I met Wendy in Kindergarten at Crawford Park Elementary School. We were childhood friends and Wendy was always a sweet, kind and loving person. I had the pleasure of having lunch with dear Wendy and Maureen Annett Gibbs about three years ago and we reminisced about our childhood and teenage years together. Wendy’s passing is such a loss and my heart breaks for all of you. May the precious memories you hold deep in your hearts, help you all during this most difficult time.
Rest In Peace and Love dear Wendy.
Love, Yolande Hurst Hollis.

My heart goes out to Cheryl, Sharon, Michael and their families! I really hope that all of these beautiful memories and photos will bring you some peace during this very sad time! Auntie Wendy was such a kind, gentle, and generous woman ... and a very important member of the Kennedy clan. She was present for so many important events in our family ... Christmases, weddings, showers, funerals. She always brought a quiet warmth. It was great to connect with her and get the latest news about her family. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren! Here's my favourite memory ... Auntie Wendy came to visit me in the hospital after Eileen was born (now 21 years old!) and she gave her a pink cloth doll. It's amazing I remember the visit because it was a difficult birth and I wasn't in the best state at the time. Regardless, I truly appreciated the visit and it left a beautiful legacy. Eileen became very attached the little pink doll over the years. "Pink Dolly" travelled with Eileen ... even on family holidays throughout Canada and North America. Pink Dolly now lives in Hull with Eileen in her apartment. I always think of Auntie Wendy whenever I see Pink dolly.
Lots of love,
Allison (and Matthew, Eileen and Liam .... and Pink Dolly)

Certainly a great loss of a very fine lady, I don't think I've ever heard Wendy say a bad word about anyone. Someone who extended an open and friendly attitude always. I'm sure Wendy was a great mother and grandmother, as was her own mom. Heartfelt condolences to all the children, grandchildren, and for certain also her brother Wayne.

I was really sad to hear about the passing of Auntie Wendy. She was such a lovely and kind lady. When I was offered an internship at a museum in Ottawa she graciously opened up her home to me and I got to spend such a wonderful time with her and Jen. I remember that time very fondly and it helped me build my current career in museums. I always enjoyed seeing her and the world definitely lost a really wonderful lady.

We’ll always remember Auntie Wendy as a kind, caring and loving person. She made everyone feel welcome and was the most genuine and nicest person we’ve ever known.
A perfect example of Auntie Wendy’s selflessness is when she let our daughter, Jennifer, move in with her while attending university in Ottawa. The peace of mind she gave us knowing that Jennifer had a safe and loving home to live in while away at school was of great comfort to us and we remain forever grateful for her kindness.
She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
