We are so grateful and honoured to have met Larry through his spouse, our Aunt Dianne. Although we only met him a few times, his caring and affable personality shone throughout our encounters. We particularly appreciated him taking the time to select the perfect gift to celebrate our son, Kelton’s, employment with the federal government - a red Ottawa Senators shirt!
Our hearts go out to Aunt Dianne, and to all Larry’s family and friends for the deep sense of loss you must be feeling.

Larry became a part of our family when he and Dianne first became an “item” about five years ago and we got to meet him when they came to Saskatchewan for a surprise 50th wedding anniversary for Trudie and I. He was an instant hit with all of the Laporte family that were gathered. He treated Dianne so well, it confirmed to all of us that they made a great couple.
We holidayed together for a couple of weeks in Mexico and we really got to know more about him, his family, and the interesting projects in his career. We thoroughly enjoyed being with them. They had planned another visit to Puerto Vallarta, but unfortunately that did not happen as his original diagnosis and treatment prohibited travel. We talked on the phone often, or were we just listening to Dianne and Trudie, I forget. In any event, right to the end, his spirits were always high and he exhibited the same strong and jovial guy we got to know and love.
Trudie and I will miss him but not forget him. Dianne and all his family and friends have our deepest sympathies. If conditions permit we are planning on meeting many of you in the fall.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Larry's passing. I met Larry a few years ago through Dianne. And he was so easy going, and welcoming that I instantly liked him. Over the years, I was able to get to know him a little better, and got a chance to hear a few of his many adventures. I'm truly grateful that I got to know him and I'll miss his sense of humor and his kindness. I'll always remember how he made me feel included, and how he took to get to know me. My condolences to his family and to all who knew him and loved him. He will be missed. ❤

Poppa C was the best of the best. Incredible role model and tons of fun to be with; even 3-hr hospital appointments flew by with lots of laughter, joking around with staff!
Poppa C, you were our rock; you made anything possible and everything easy. “If you’re not early, you’re late!” Wish you could’ve been later, departing our physical company.
Thank you for everything!
You’ll be in my heart forever ❤️
