Obituary of Doris Marie MacDonald

Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7th, 2016 at the age of 87. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Ellen Weaver and by her loving husband Donald MacDonald and her sister Francis Lewis. Loving mother of Daniel Munroe (Marilyn), Nancy Evans (David); Cherished grandmother to Danny and Karen Munroe, Amy Evans and great grandmother to Cameron Munroe and aunt to Sandra Hagerman (Fredericton, N.B.) She was the dearest friend of Susan and Rodney Berg, Brian and Linda Delaney who were always there to provide friendship and support and were an important part of Doris’ life. Special thank you to the management and staff at Chapel Hill Retirement Home and especially Dr. Melissa Guindon, Debbie, Caroline, Sheila and Michelle. Thanks also to her end of life care team – Audrey and Joy from At Home Hospice Care and Marilyn from St. Elizabeth Nursing Services who enabled Doris to die comfortably and with dignity at home. The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd., Orléans, on Saturday, November 12, 2016, from 9 – 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow in the Heritage Chapel at 11 a.m. Reception is to follow immediately following the service. Burial at Dale’s Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or Make A Wish Foundation, would be appreciated.
