Prends soin!

Joanne and family, may God give you strengthen at this time as you mourn the loss of a husband and father. While I do not know you well, I do know that Pierre was a very special person and that he often spoke highly of his family. Some of his most fun times, we times spent with his family. Pierre was a wonderful colleague. He was always prepared to help those around him and had a way of making even the most mundane task fun. I was fortunate enough to have been part of a few of those last dinners with colleagues. His spirit was that of a fighter and fight he did. He reminds us all, to never give up. Pierre, you will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Pierre's passing. Pierre used to regularly attend my cycling class. He will be fondly remembered and I will never forget the laughter and joy he brought to our early morning classes. He especially enjoyed teasing about my music selection - particularly my choice of country music, secretly I always knew I would convert him to be a fan of country music! Your time hear may be over but you will be in our memories always, ride on my friend! My condolences to your entire family.

Joanne, Julie, Daniel, Martin, Marie Claude, Mireille We are so sad to hear this terrible news about my beloved cousin, Pierre. He had a kind, gentle and such a humorous soul. He was a wonderful husband and father...you can\'t help but see how proud and happy he was about his family. I have many memories growing up with my cousins, Pierre and Edmond. I am pretty sure that after all the antics that my brother Steve, and his co-hort Edmond put Pierre through.... I think all those years he endured, help make him the wonderful, funny person that he was. . And for my other family that are hurting so much right now. Rachelle, Lise, Edmond and families, Deepest condolences, we all know what a loss this is. Pierrre always lived life to the fullest, such a positive person that everyone loved to be around, he was so funny... (did I already mention that?) We will always have those wonderful memories of Pierre, he will be a light in our hearts...never forgotten. Pauline, John, Sarah, Jen and Jonathan and families xxx

I would like to say a few words on behalf of me and Pierre’s other Bell Canada co-workers (some who are seated here today). Pierre worked as an IT Security manager at Bell for 13 years and I worked with him during seven of those years. Pierre was a gentleman, had an excellent sense of humour and always showed loyalty towards his teammates. A gentle guy with a low key, quiet personality, who never seemed to get excited about anything. He took all that was thrown his way, in stride. I remember saying to Pierre on numerous occasions at work, that his new project assignment was a #1 priority and Pierre would say to me, which number ONE priority of the 5 priorities you just gave me, would you like me to work on first?” My reply was always the same - “All of them Pierre - because I know you can handle them”. For many years, Pierre rode his bike called STELLA, to work from Orleans to Downtown Ottawa, during the summer and most of the winter spring and fall. He was quite the outdoorsman. Pierre was dedicated to Stella and we’re not sure why he named that bike “Stella”, but we were thinking that it was probably so he could have a guilt free pint of Stella or two, after the ride home from work. Pierre was working from home one day and his Senior Manager, David (who is sitting here with us today and him and Pierre were always joking with each other), did not know that, so when the office directed David’s call to Pierre’s home, his young daughter Julie, answered the phone (don’t know how young she was at the time) and David informed Julie, that if Pierre did not take the phone immediately, he would be fired. Pierre told David that his daughter went crying to him that “he was going to lose his job”. Whenever Pierre and David got together, Pierre would remind David of the traumatic experience he put his daughter through and that she will always remember it. (David hopes that Pierre was just pulling his leg and Julie did not lose any sleep over that incident). Thank-you Pierre for your friendship, kindness and laughs. We will all remember you. I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to Pierre's family. There's such a sense of helplessness when someone we love dies. I'd like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helps me. Prayer is so valuable at this time, but it's not that prayer simply makes us feel better. 2 Cor. 4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection; this is our hope that helps us recover and gives us power to go on. 2 Cor. 1:3 describes our Creator as, "..the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort (Ps. 83:18) be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.

I was saddened to hear the sad news and wished to share along my thoughts in this difficult time. Although we never worked closely, I had the pleasure of working with Pierre over a number of years and remember him fondly as he worked his way towards retirement. He was a good person, a respected colleague and - as you have so nicely captured in the photo above - he brought such a positive presence in the lives of those he interacted with. His smile was radiating. My sincerest condolences - he was far too young to say goodbye...
