I knew Des when he worked at Statistics Canada. Our interactions were always pleasant. I used to run into him occasionally in the Convent Glen Mall in Orleans and we would catch up a bit. I was actually thinking about him recently when I was at the mall, noting that I had not seen him in a long time. Sincere condolences to the family. Des was a nice man.

My brother Bernie Cusack has just sent word that Des has died. Sometimes long-ago, on PEI and in Ottawa, your home was my ‘home away from home’ and Kenny & Des were like more kid brothers. I haven’t been to Ottawa for ages, have got out of touch with everyone I knew there, and wasn’t aware Des was in a nursing home & wheelchair bound. Such a change from being so involved in many things, esp school board. Perhaps he was more than ready to move on. I bet your mom & dad and Kenny -- & Grampa Pete Cusack – were right there at the gate w St. Peter & welcomed him w open arms. My sympathy to all the family.
Doreen (Cusack) Beagan, Charlottetown PEI.
(This may go twice - or not at all. Can't get the fancy authenticating letters to 'take')
