C’est avec tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de CAMILLE THOMAS Décédé paisiblement entouré de sa famille le 26 février 2020, à l’âge de 76 ans, à Ottawa, Ontario. Il était l’époux bien-aimé de Roberte (née Pinsonneault) depuis 52 ans. Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil ses filles : Francine, Julie (Wayne Richard) et Ginette (Pascal Cantin). Il fut le grand-papa adoré de : Élissa, Rémi, Ève, Adèle et Mai. Il laisse également dans le deuil ses frères et sœurs : Thérèse Maisonneuve (Roland 2001) Iroquois Falls, Bernard (Madeleine) Alban, André (Reina) Cochrane, Martial (Yvonne) Clarence Creek, Robert (Kathy) Tecumseh, Ida O’Donnell (Brian) Iroquois Falls, Mariette Thomas (Paul Shuster) Ottawa. Il fut précédé par ses parents Ludger Thomas et Noëlla (née Maxwell) de Cochrane, Ontario, son frère Michel de Val-d’Or, Québec (2014) et ses deux petits anges Alexis et Jacob Cantin (2005). Il sera manqué par plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-sœurs, neveux, nièces, cousins, cousines, parents et amis. Camille a œuvré en éducation comme enseignant à Timmins et Windsor, comme directeur d’école à North Bay, pour terminer sa carrière comme surintendant au Conseil scolaire de district des écoles catholiques du Sud-Ouest. Ces dernières années, il a travaillé à la clinique Audiologie familiale Orléans, avec sa fille. Une célébration de sa vie, suivie d’une réception, aura lieu le vendredi 6 mars 2020 à 15h au Complexe funéraire Héritage situé au 1250, rue Trim, Orléans, Ontario. La famille recevra parents et amis à compter de 13h. L’inhumation aura lieu à une date ultérieure. La famille désire remercier le personnel au Centre de cancer à l’Hôpital d’Ottawa, l’unité de soins palliatifs de l’Hôpital Élisabeth-Bruyère, ainsi que Champlain LHIN et Dr C. Biscay pour les bons soins à domicile. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Roberte (née Pinsonneault), and his daughters Francine, Julie (Wayne Richard) and Ginette (Pascal Cantin). He was the beloved grandfather of Élissa, Rémi, Ève, Adèle and Mai. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Thérèse Maisonneuve (Roland 2001) Iroquois Falls, Bernard (Madeleine) Alban, André (Reina) Cochrane, Martial (Yvonne) Clarence Creek, Robert (Kathy) Tecumseh, Ida O’Donnell (Brian) Iroquois Falls, Mariette Thomas (Paul Shuster) Ottawa. He is preceded in death by his parents Ludger Thomas and Noëlla (née Maxwell) from Cochrane, Ontario, his brother Michel from Val-d’Or, Quebec (2014) and his two little angels Alexis and Jacob Cantin. He will also be missed by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. Camille began his career as a teacher in Timmins and Windsor, then as a school principal in North Bay, before retiring as the superintendent of education from the Conseil scolaire de district des écoles catholiques du Sud-Ouest. During the last few years, he helped his daughter at Orléans Family Hearing Services. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Heritage Funeral Complex located at 1250 Trim Road, Orléans, Ontario, on Friday, March 6, 2020, at 1:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm followed by a reception. The burial will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center, the palliative care unit at Élisabeth-Bruyère, the Champlain LHIN and particularly Dr. C. Biscay for her devotion to her patient. Memorial donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation (ottawacancer.ca) for cancer research or to the Canadian Kidney Foundation (kidney.ca).
