I worked with Allan years ago at Dearborn when he was part of Dan Flynn's team. I remember a person who was almost always jovial, laughing and joking at yet at the same time was keen on his work and made a great team even better. The years at Dearborn were great years and part of the memories where the good times that I had with the Brockville team that Dan and Allan built. It was always a pleasure to work with Allan and the world will be a lesser place with his loss. I would like to offer my most sincere condolences to the family and he will be remembered in my prayers.

Allan was like a second father to me when I was young. Decades on, I still remember his humour and warmth vividly. He was exceptionally talented at making those around him happy and roar with laughter. Allan may not have invented the "dad joke" but he sure did perfect it.
He brought a light and levity into any room. I am so glad he was my neighbourhood-Dad and friend.

I have such fond memories of Alan and our soccer years together. He was passionate about the game and more importantly about the wonderful girls we had the honour to watch grow up on the pitch, including his daughter Jannick. I know he was so proud of all of them and the young women they have become. He will always have a special place in all our hearts ♥️

Fran, Sophie, Jannick,
Condolences from the Kerrs. Our hearts are filled with sadness.
Allan was a friend, colleague, and neighbour to me who brought passion, reason, and a love for life into my world.
We look back with fondness on the times our families spent time together on Tache Way.
I will see you later today to celebrate Allan who loved a good argument, a completely toasted bagel, wine, soccer and above all his family.
Allan

Francine, Sophie and Jannick,
We are truly heartbroken!
We will fondly remember Allan through the great times we shared. There are so many great memories that we will always cherish, including, sipping homemade beer under the Orient Park tree, wayward trips to the pumpkin patch and cheering on Allan in his Disney World performances.
We admire and will remember Allan’s humour, positive outlook on life, his love of family, and his passion and commitment for everything he did whether it be wine, travel, or Miata’s.
We are so blessed for having Allan in our life. He will be missed!
Love
Margaret, Rick, Kate and Andrew

Boo recalls when Allan and he were in grade school.
Allan was Boo's "campaign manager" when he was running for class president; Allan's winning slogan was " he's little but he's got big ideas"!!!
A fun memory.

Je viens d'apprendre la triste nouvelle, qui m'a profondément secoué.
My memories of Allan in our early years are filled with so many treasured moments.
I will miss seeing Allan around the neighbourhood in Orleans...Second Cup, Metro, etc. He always took the time to chat, joke and laugh.
Above all else, he was always beaming with pride and gratitude when he talked about Francine and their two daughters, which he did so often.
Mes sincères condoléances à vous trois, et aux familles Martineau et Piché.

I will always remember Allan. Though I hadn’t seen him for many years, I have very fond memories as a child visiting the Martineau’s year after year during summer trips to Canada. He was so lovely and funny and I am truly glad to have known him. I will always think of him when I visit my aunt and uncle, as I know he was a very special person to them. My deepest sympathy’s go out to Fran and the girls, his whole family and all of his friends.

Francine & family: I am so, so sorry to hear this sad news. All my sympathy and condolences to you all. Allan & I caught up on a whole lot of good times over the past few years - as Facebook friends, and running into each other occasionally, re-kindling so many memories of laughs and happiness. And I was so glad to have gone out for a morning coffee and a long catch-up chat with him this past spring. Allan will always hold such a fond spot in my heart: with our crazy memories of Monty Python routines, jokes and pranks, and generally terrorizing our Laurentian University friends so many years ago...And then recently discovering so many common loves: of Italy & France; of food, wine; architecture, beauty and travels. Thank you all for having shared him - even just a teeny bit - with me. I feel so lucky to have known him. You have been blessed with him, and he blessed us.all Again - my heart goes out to you all xxx
As someone said to me this May when my Mom passed suddenly (and I found it helped me understand the pain): "Grief is love, with nowhere to go..." Thanks Allan for all the good times xx

To Allan,
The first time I remember speaking to you...was the first time I met the majority of Alyssa’s extended family on Denis’ side.
Like any new boyfriend, I knew I had to make a good first impression and of course there was the added pressure knowing the size and closeness the family shares.
On the drive there, I made sure to have Alyssa quiz me on names, a brief physical description and maybe a tidbit or two I could use as conversation starters...Yours was:
“Allan: My uncle in law, Frans Husband, Sophie and Jannick’s Father, Funny and oh! You both like wine.”
Great...vinophile.
As the initial introductions fade...and I begin to mingle more, I spot what I believe to be you across the room.
I weave around a few already jubilant “do-si-do-ing” women. Later knowing of course Lou Lou to be one of them...
“I’m Stefan, Alyssa’s boyfriend. I hear you enjoy your wine.”
Which you then responded by a slight gesture of the arm...and in a dry tone “sure I’ll take a refill, thanks”.
Taken aback I reached for the glass you extended, but was quickly met by your other hand and a gracious smile.
“Only kidding...I’m Allan, you’ll be doing that enough in the future. So...how did you and Alyssa meet.”
So Allan, Alyssa was right in her brief description but over time it’s obvious to me how we can round it out...
“Allan: My witty uncle in law, Frans loving husband, Sophie and Jannick’s supporting Father, Funny and oh! You both love wine.”
Your friend, Stefan.

I loved Allan as did so many! I have so many great memories of him. The quality of his that sticks out the most for me was his sense of humour, we had such a laugh. He was always so positive. What a fantastic guy. When I was little I thought of him more as a fun uncle then a family friend. He always kept in touch with me over the years even though I live across the Atlantic! I will always remember him and smile. Lots of love to you guys and all the people he has left behind. His light will shine on. Louise xxxx
