Dr. Bill Warrell was a remarkable person, federal government veterinarian and international negotiator. Bill was one of good humour, always ready with a joke and a sarcastic yet unhurtful comment. From his time in the eradication of African swine fever in Haiti after 1978 to his many years circling the globe negotiating import conditions for Canadian animals and animal products, Bill stood out as a giant amongst his peers. Bill was a pioneer in regulatory veterinary medicine with an immense amount of experience and knowledge. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Bill will be missed by all of us.

Very sorry to learn of the passing of my esteemed colleague, Bill. My sincere condolences to the family. I worked and travelled with Bill on a trade way mission way back in the early 90s. Suffice it to say, he was one of a kind and always quick with a joke! I'm sure that he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace good friend.

Nicole and Family
It is not possible to measure the value of a life nor to express adequately our sympathies to you with the passing of Bill. Suffice to say that he cast a large presence in all that he did. For many years working together for the Government he was a colleague, a friend, a mentor and a travelling companion and I will also remember him with respect and a smile.

Nicole and family,
I pray that Bill has found peace in the presence of the Lord. I worked with Bill from his arrival in our veterinary corps in the 1970s. Thought about him as recently as yesterday and am incredulous at his departure. Always enjoyed Bill's company and viewpoints. Am forever left - smiling - with the memory of our gender sensitivity training in the 1980s. May God comfort you in this great loss.

Bill will be missed.
I worked with him for many years starting in BC and then Ottawa and enjoyed his company and worked with him mostly at Camelot. Bill was a rogue person, his managers bending to him rather than they to him. Always with a ready smile I sure he will be missed by all his colleagues.
Always enjoyed golf at which he was very good travelling to the States to take part in tournaments.

heartfelt condolences to Nicole, Bruce, Bryan and Kim.
I'll remember Bill mostly through our time at Outaouais and the junior tournaments we all played all over around here and some road trips to Quebec. Skins games, Intersectionals, bevvies in the clubhouse, the Club Championships and those wild night rides home from the course--all great memories. Bill, you were definitely one of a kind, just like that crazy power fade which somehow always found the fairway. When you get up there, find Kenny and Marc for a game!
