Thank you Huns for everything you have done for us. Surinder and I are very grateful to you for all your sincere efforts to ensure my poetry books are a success and that we raise enough money for the Ottawa Heart Institute. I assure you that we will continue to do this every year, now more so in your memory. May God bless your soul; and give courage and strength to Oshima, Vinnieji, Bundeep and our lovely granddaughter Neela.
This is for you Huns
As you smile upon us
From above,
Know this that
You are here
With us, next to all of us
Still cheering us on, believing in us
Motivating us
Know this that we all shine because of you
As you smile upon us
From above
Know this that
We will live through the tomorrows
Feel the sun and smell the flowers
But, you are here
With us, next to all of us
Still cheering us on, believing in us
Motivating us
Know this that we all shine because of you
As you smile upon us
From above
Know this that
We will carry your dreams
Upon our shoulders
With the same energy
And fervour
Know this that we all shine because of you
young or old
you made us shine
you made us shine
forever in our thoughts
you shall remain

It is with a very heavy heart I express my condolences to the Rangar and Sahgal families on the passing of everybody’s beloved Huns. Ever since I was advised of his tragic and shocking sudden passing, my thoughts and prayers have been with Neela, Oshima and her family, and Vinnie and Bundeep. Words will never be enough....
Huns and family members and I shared so many close moments together over the years and I feel totally blessed to have known this most sweetest of souls. I was always captivated by how charming and gentle Huns was with people from all walks of life, and of all ages from toddlers to the eldest of the elderly. The immediate genuine connections with all he met.
The fond memories and laughs we shared together will forever be etched in my mind. He accomplished so much in his too short a time on earth, and there was still so much more for him on the horizon. The world has truly lost....
Rest in peace my dear Huns.
A true hero and friend to so very many.

An early death for some souls holds a possible reason - a reason related to the core nature of the human soul.
The desire to make a difference.
All humans have this desire.
In some, the desire and drive to make a difference in people's lives is far stronger than in others.
For some souls, once they become well networked in their lives, have built friendships, relationships, held bonds with many people, live many places; they die. Suddenly.
Quote by Nayaswami Pranaba, who has been sharing Swami Yogananda's teachings for almost 60 years
SO VERY TRUE OF HUNSDEEP. HE WAS WAY AHEAD IN HIS LIFE, FINISHED IT ALL AND LEFT, HOWEVER, HIS SPIRIT, LOVE, WARMTH AND SMILE ALONG WITH HIS SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY WILL REMAIN FOREVER.
We met Hunsdeep only once in Ottawa in 2010 at Vaisakhi Mela but that was the meeting we will remember forever. We laughed a lot and shared many hilarious stories/events/jokes. He was so respectful, loving, warm and courteous. We were sitting on the same table with him, his wife-to-be (at the time), his family and his in-laws. Although we met him only once he left a lifetime memory. That is what Hunsdeep was.
May God rest his soul in eternal peace.
Om Shanti Shanti Shati

We first met Hunsdeep at Gulshan and Kellys wedding and were so impressed by his positive , energetic demeanor. I think we only encountered him once or twice after that but his impact was a lasting impression of a young man destined to achieve and contribute significantly to society , which is obviously the case. He has touched many lives and has left a huge hole in all our hearts. We have lost a great young man far too soon. To Vinnie and family our sincerest condolence.

How could you leave us so suddenly, so unexpectedly without an inkling that anything was wrong?
You were a people's person , always there for everyone, perhaps, except for yourself.
My life is fuller and richer because of our long time association and friendship.
Take sometime out for yourself now.
Rest in peace in the highest place in Paradise Ameen.

Sad and shocked to see that this young man has left us. He left a huge mark on Ottawa for our community. God needs such good persons.
God bless his family and his daughter and the community should not forget them later in life. Community has to take care of the little girl and Mum.

I first met and hung out with Hunsdeep in Montreal way back in the day, as we had common friends. Although we didn't stay in touch when he moved, we reconnected in 2008 when we ran into each other in an elevator at the H.o.C. He was the catalyst for this reconnection, as I not knowing if he would recognize or remember me tried to avoid the situation by staying quiet the entire ride. Not Huns though...….anyone that knew him would tell you that if he knew you, he wouldn't miss the opportunity to say hello or acknowledge you in some form (head nod, peace sign etc.). He had the ability to make everyone that conversed with him feel comfortable. He was a kind and gentle soul and I'll miss him dearly! Know that you left a mark on my life man! Still trying to process this.
RIP Brother

I was very sad to learn of Huns's sudden passing. My condolences go out to his wife and family.
I met Huns when he and his family moved to Ottawa from Montreal in the early 1990s. One day while in Grade 9 a new "brown" face was walking the halls of the old Montreal Road location of Sir Wilfrid Laurier High School. Immediately we bonded and became fast friends... there was only a handful of us desi's at that school in those days!!!
From high school, through to our university years to later on as professionals, at each stage in my life, Huns always greeted me with kindness, respect and acceptance. He was not only a great community leader, but more importantly for me a great friend who never forgot his old friends.
May he rest in peace and be forever in our thoughts and hearts.
Sukhy

I started at the House of Commons on the same day he did in January 2005 because we were part of the same hiring process. Though we didn't work in the same section the whole time, our paths crossed constantly. We would tease him about using the private phone room as his "office". I saw him on June 5th walking down Queen Street animatedly talking to a friend on his way to lunch. So full of life and excitement. His smile, infectious laugh and easy way will be missed by all who knew him.
