C’est avec grande tristesse que j’ai appris la nouvelle. Comme nous tous à la Faculté de Médecine, je n’oublierai jamais Matthew, un jeune homme brillant, capable, engagé et drôle. Tellement talentueux, on parle encore de sa performance incroyable au MedShow. Fondateur du Comité du bien-être étudiant à la Faculté, je l’ai vu présenter son projet au Congrès Canadien sur la Santé Cardiovasculaire à Vancouver avec confiance, charme et brio. Il était très fier de sa sœur Laura qui est aussi étudiante au programme MD et reconnaissant de l’amour et du support de toute sa famille, particulièrement sa mère Micheline que je connais aussi de longue date. Dr Matthew McDonald a laissé sa marque auprès de tous ceux qui l’ont côtoyé, c’était certainement mon privilège. Je vous offre à toute la famille mes plus sincères condoléances. Je n’ai pas de mot pour apaiser votre souffrance mais j’espère que la fierté de la personne et du professionnel qu’était Matthew saura un jour alléger votre chagrin.
