Obituary of Mary Theresa Hughes

It is with deep sadness that the family of Mary Hughes announces her passing after a brief battle with cancer on November 11th, 2018. Mary was much beloved by her husband of 30 years, Bernie and her three children Geoffrey, Brian and Lauren and her husband Eldred. Precious daughter of Sheila Harrington and pre-deceased by her father John. Cherished by siblings Shawn (Sherrie), Steve (Colleen), P.J. (Sue), Laura (Tony), Chris (Min) and Brian (Jenn). Much loved sister-in-law of the Hughes family Mike (Annette), Cathy (Bob), Janet (Bruce), Sue (Craig) and Dave (Tatiana). Incredible aunt to Kristin, Kayla, Christina (Michael), Amy, Mackenzie, Quinn, Tessa, Lia, Sofia, Shaleigh, Kai, Alex, Naomi, Meghan, Cory, Matthew, Daniel, Nicole, Alyssa (Ryan), Kyla, Ryan, Jeremy and Natalie and great aunt to Callie and Finnegan. Mary lived her life every day to its fullest. She reached out to those in need of support without hesitation. A warm meal, a helping hand, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on or a kind word or touch. She was so much to so many and touched so many lives. She loved selflessly and fully. A roller coaster riding, super baking, grand canyon climbing ride warrior. The family invites you to join them in a celebration of Mary’s beautiful life. Visitations at Heritage Funeral Complex 1250 Trim Rd., Orleans, Ottawa, Ontario, K4A 3P7 will be on Friday November 16th, 2018 from 1 – 3 p.m. and from 6 – 8 p.m. The Funeral will be held at Divine Infant Church 6658 Bilberry Dr., Orleans, Ontario, K1C 2S9  ON Saturday November 17th, 2018 at  2:30 p.m. Cremation to follow at a later date. Please join the family in the parish hall immediately following the mass. In lieu of flowers, monetary or time donations can be made in honour of Mary to Rogers House in Ottawa.
