Hi,
I am so sorry about your loss, Alex & Renee had them as a teacher for a long time from the school year 1999-2000. I had her as a teacher for Grade 5/6 division class for the school year in 2002-2003. Also, I had her as a choir director in primary or intermediate choir from Fallingbrook for a long time. Tanya had you as a teacher for a long time back in the school year 2004-2005.

I'm so sorry to hear of Joanne's passing. She was so lovely, kind and generous. She came to our mom's 90th birthday celebration, and, as Joanne would, had her harp in the car, so offered to play while people were gathering and visiting. So thoughtful and talented.

As I approach my 30th year, I have lasting memories of Mrs. Griffin. She had a remarkable personality and love for music. Every morning she would play the harp as we entered class and had my friends and I involved in our school's choir even if we didn't have a great singing voice. We still reminisce about our Fallingbrook CD and can sing each of the songs word for word! Thank you for the fond childhood memories!

Mrs. Griffin, as we called her at Fallingbrook elementary, instilled in all her students, myself included, a passion for music and dance. She was a pure ray of sunshine and enthusiasm. I have so many memories of choir and dance club and all of the enriching experiences (including turning our library into a music studio and recording a Fallingbrook elementary CD!) that made my formative years at Fallingbrook so much more than just a primary school education. So sorry for the loss, my thoughts and prayers are with the Griffin family. A true gem of a human gone too soon.

So very very sorry to hear about Joanne. I only knew her for a few years through Coro Vivo, but also enjoyed her beautiful music at my workplace, the Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) when she filled the halls of 5E Oncology with such gentle sounds. Joanne was a truly lovely lady, kind, open, generous, easy-going; and a truly talented musician. Her last album is a treasure.
My deepest condolences to her family. May her memory be for a blessing.

I’m so sad to learn about Joanne’s passing. I worked with the Palliative Care team at the General hospital and she would play the harp for the oncology patients twice a month. The last time I saw her at a St. Mary’s function she told me about her cancer diagnosis. She will be missed, so sad.

Dear Don, Ryan, Svetlana and Andrew,
I am so sorry to hear of Joanne's passing. Our correspondence over the past years has been intermittent, but always enjoyable. I feel I have had a glimpse into your family as she has had into mine. I will surely miss our emails and shared photos. Though we have both been touched with the terrible C disease, her experience turned out so much worse. I could only imagine how awful it must have been to see her struggle through treatments.
I will miss her.
My thoughts are with all of you as you learn to live life without your mother and wife.
