Helen Tweddle

Obituary of Helen Tweddle

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Helen Tweddle on March 24th at the Ottawa General Hospital. She was surrounded by family and loved ones at the time of her passing. Born in Toronto in 1939, Helen moved to Ottawa with her husband Allen in 1961. A pillar of strength, Helen selflessly devoted her life to her family and her community. She was an extraordinary woman who relished in life's simple pleasures. No write-up of Helen would be complete without mentioning her deep love of reading and her own personal library with over 3000 books. She is preceded in death by her parents Thelma and Lawrence Wilkinson; lovingly survived by her husband Allen; brother Bob (Lynne); sister-in-law Barb (Peter); children Steve, Sue (Bob), Debbie (Kirk), Mark (Pete) and Terrie (Jason); and grandchildren Matthew, Courtney and Christopher. We will celebrate Helen's remarkable spirit on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Heritage Funeral Complex at 1250 Trim Road. Visitation is from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., with a Service at 12 p.m. and a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Juvenile Diabetes Association, causes near and dear to her heart. Helen, you were a truly special person. You meant the world to us. Rest In Peace. Online condolences may shared at: www.heritagefh.ca
