Obituary of Denis McGrath

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father on August 2, 2021 at the Elisabeth Bruyère Hospital after a valiant battle with dementia. Born to Denis and Rose McGrath in Patrick’s Cove, Nfld, Denis made his home in Ottawa. He was predeceased by his loving wife Madeline (nee Spurvey) in 2017 and is survived by his children Randy (Julie), Wally (Lori), Paula (Shawn) and Denise (Scott). Adored Pop to Carley, Denis James, Sydney, Joshua, Dawson, Brianna, Sarah, Alicia and Amber. He was predeceased by siblings Laura, Theresa, Rosella, Madeline (the late Ron), Edgar, James and Martin. He will be fondly remembered by his surviving sisters Lucy (the late Michael), Betty (Clayton) and Rita (Adrien), and special nephew Walter, as well as a large extended family. Denis was known for his generosity and love for his family. In his memory the family would ask that you extend a gesture of kindness to those less fortunate. A private celebration of life will be held in his honour.
