Billu Uncle,
You personified generosity coupled with inimitable humor, a soothing persona, and that remarkable ability to look different (and more regal) each time we met over the past 28 years. God bless.

Dear Billu Uncle,
We were heartbrooken to hear that you had passed away. This was too early and too soon. Memories with you go back some 50-60 years. You stayed with us in Farsta, Stockholm, Sweden. You picked up the language during your years here and still had some swedish language skills and with a very good pronunciation as well. Meeting you in Stockholm or Toronto was always surrounded by laughter and good fun.
You were a wonderful and positiv person with a great personality. We will miss you alot and keep all the lovely memories near our hearts.
Our deepest condolences to Gregory, Julie, Alex and Anton – we are thinking of you.

Paresh, Billu, Dear Uncle, kära farbror,
You left us suddenly and far too soon. I have strong memories of you as a kid when you came visiting Sweden, you were the joyful, friendly uncle who could speak Swedish. You were caring, brought the family together and has always been a very important person to my father. I am grateful for all good memories throughout the years, and that Anders and my kids got the chance to get to know you too. You will live in our memories forever with warmth and love.

Dear Billu Mamaji,
You left us too early and I am not sure how the family is going to fill the void that has been created as you were the life of the party and all our family get togethers. The memories of the time spent with you in India and here in Toronto will always be cherished and will never be forgotten by us. May the almighty give all the family, extended family members and your friends the courage and strength to deal with this loss. Rest in peace MASTERJI!

We are saddened by the loss of Chibba Sahab, he was a great friend to me and our family.
He will be missed not just by me but all of us. Good times or bad times, he always had this sense of humour and a genuine sense of empathy that touched you.
His famous quote... “When the going gets tough, the tough take a coffee break”
LOL
We console ourselves with following quote from The Bhagwad Gita (2:20)
na jaayate' mriyate' vaa kadaachin naayam bhuthva bhavithaa na bhooyah: / ajo nithyah saasvato'yam puraano na hanyate' hanyamaane' sareere'
The Spirit is neither born nor does it die at any time. It does not come into being or cease to exist. It is unborn, eternal, permanent, and primeval. The Spirit is not destroyed when the body is destroyed.
His fond memories will always remain with us.
God bless Chibba Sahab.
Our deepest condolences to Gregory, Julie, Alex and Anton.

I still remember the day I met you first time in Toronto. I knew you as a distant relative but had not had a chance to meet before. After that, there were so many times during our four year stay in Toronto when we met, played badminton, met other family members courtesy to you. Even after our departure fro Toronto, we remained in touch, spoke so many times and did plan to meet again. Will miss you forever. You always did what you wanted to, but this was not the way to depart. God must be waiting for you as He might be having some better plans. May Almighty give you place in His heart and Heaven.

The one we lost, Paresh, Billu, my "Papa", belongs to a large family and had many friends.
I think about all of those who loved him and for who he was important.
Dear Papa,
Your life has been rich, eclectic and happy through India, where you were born on the 7th of september 1945, then in Europe, Sweden, France, and since the last 40 years in Canada, where you passed away on the 19th of april 2021.
We were different but had a lot of in common : read the newspaper, follow politics, play and watch sports, eat spicy indian food, drink beer, work for the gouvernement...We shared tastes, behaviours, values, blood.
Julie was telling me lately how much sometimes I could look like you at the same age ;) You know her since we're teenagers and always used to say we were a great team ;)
Since 2014, you were the "Papy" of Alex, since 2017 of his brother Anton. I know how you were proud of them. Be sure we'll keep on doing the best for them ;)
We last met in winter 2018, spent christmas together in France with Maman and Julie's family. Since, the virus postponed our meeting ; it now cancelled it definitely.
Less than a month ago, we were talking on visio, you were showing us your plants, the view from your balcony, the soccer ball that was waiting for the kids...Anton was showing you his boxing gloves, Alex was counting up to 10 in english...
Then in 2 weeks, it went so fast. Life went so fast. Whatever the distance, the langage, we shared the essential. I'll take along all the souvenirs together, your visits to France, in Cambrai, Le Touquet, Berck, Lille, Crevecoeur-le-Grand ; our holidays in US, Spain, Belgium, our trip in India ; of course all my summers in Toronto.
Thank you for being my Papa.
Take care buddy ;)
Rest in peace.
Greg & the family

The Hyderabad family was very close to Billu Uncle, and Billu Unclue frequently visited us all. He thoroughly enjoyed taking part in indoor sports with the kids and sitting and chatting about the good old days of Calcutta with Mom . He could charm everyone with his warmth and friendly attitude. He was the person who brought the West and the East together with a lot of ease and grace. He adapted to the diverse weather, food habits, language and lifestyle of different parts of India with great ease and never compared anything, nor did he ever complain. His love for India and Calcutta in particular could also be seen in all the forward and comments he use to share in the family page on Facebook. He made sure he met all his old friends and relatives, while he was in India. You will be dearly missed Uncle. May the Almighty bless his soul and May He give strength and courage to all of us to bear this loss.
