Obituary of Yvon Picard

Est décédé à la maison, entouré de sa famille, le lundi 15 mars 2021, à Carlsbad Springs, ON à l’âge de 69 ans. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse bien-aimée de 47 ans Francine Picard (née Desjardins) ; ses enfants : Rachelle, Jacynthe et Andréane (Patrick Larose) ; sa petite-fille Alexandra. Il laisse également ses frères et soeurs : Noëlla, Colombe, Anita (feu Wilfred Harrigan), Andréa (feu Robert Séguin), Agathe (Gérald Séguin), Marcel (Claudette) et Michel (France), ainsi que ses beaux-frères, belles-sœurs, neveux, nièces et amis. Il fut prédécédé par son fils Jean-François, ses parents Julien et Cécile (née Tessier), sa sœur Anna et ses frères Léopold (Raymonde) et Conrad (feu Pauline). Yvon était un employé de Bell Canada depuis 35 ans, où il a pris sa retraite en tant que gestionnaire de projet. Sa carrière l’a amené, ainsi que sa famille, à vivre en Nouvelle-Zélande pendant 2 ans, ce qui a toujours été une source de bons souvenirs. Il a ensuite travaillé comme consultant pour le gouvernement du Canada, en tant que gestionnaire de projet. Il était un ancien président du Club Optimiste de Carlsbad Springs, un ancien Grand Chevalier des Chevaliers de Colomb, conseil no. 9519 St-Laurent, ainsi qu’un membre actif du conseil d’administration local de la Caisse Populaire. Il était un vrai gentleman, il aimait la vie, le plein air, le golf, les voyages (surtout avec sa roulotte 5th wheel), la menuiserie et son Star Trek. Il était toujours prêt à donner un coup de main à sa famille ainsi que ses amis, et très généreux de son temps. Il nous manquera beaucoup. Passed away at home, surrounded by family on Monday, March 15th, 2021 in Carlsbad Springs ON at the age of 69. Beloved husband of 47 years to Francine Picard (nee Desjardins). Loving father of Rachelle, Jacynthe and Andréane (Patrick Larose). Cherished grandfather of Alexandra. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Noëlla, Colombe, Anita (the late Wilfred Harrigan), Andréa (the late Robert Séguin), Agathe (Gérald Séguin), Marcel (Claudette) and Michel (France), as well as his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends. Predeceased by his son Jean-François, his parents Julien and Cécile (nee Tessier), his siblings Anna, Léopold (Raymonde) and Conrad (the late Pauline). Yvon was a 35-year employee of Bell Canada, where he retired as a Project Manager. His career brought him and his family to live in New Zealand for 2 years, which he cherished with fond memories. He went on to work for the Government of Canada, consulting as a Project Manager. He was a former president of the Carlsbad Springs Optimist Club, a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council No 9519 St-Laurent, and an active member of the local Caisse Populaire branch's board of directors. He was a true gentleman, loved life, the outdoors, golf, travelling (especially with his 5th wheel), woodworking, and his Star Trek. He was always ready to give a helping hand to his family and friends, and very generous with his time. He will be missed by many. For those wishing, in memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
