Dear Shelton, Sharon & Shannon,
Our first wonderful memory of Sheila is of that unforgettable journey from Colombo to Riyadh on Air Lanka where our life long friendship began.
May God place Sheila in a special room in the Father's mansion from where she will watch over all the people who loved her deeply. When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven who will walk with us every step of the way.
We are keeping you Shelton, Sharon and Shannon in our hearts and our prayers. Sheila walked in your life Shelton as an anchor and life long partner and, to Sharon and Shannon, as a beloved Mamma.
You will always be remembered for your loving ways and that beautiful smile !

Sincerest condolences on this saddest of days. We consider ourselves fortunate to have known Sheila as a valued colleague and friend. As I was watching the service online, before people came in, a closeup picture of Sheila came up on the presentation, and I thought, "Her smile can brighten an empty room." In her life, her smile and personality brightened many rooms, and now her memory will. May she rest in peace.

Dear Shelton uncle, Sharon & Martin and children, and Shannon,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of dear aunty Sheila. It was a beautiful life well lived and well shared with others in love. It was a beautiful funeral service with loving tributes from both her children. David Brainerd, her cousin, joined her in eternity on the same day (Feb 4, 2021). What a celebration of two faithful servants of Christ, steadfast in their faith to the end. Also exemplified by David uncle and Sheila aunty, was their deep love for their spouses that was so evident to all, and never faded over the years. As Shannon noted, a relationship based on love and respect. The broadcast was well done, and pappa (Freddie Brainerd) was able to see the service and recognize his dear cousin as Mano aunty's youngest daughter.
Love and prayers, from Freddie Selladurai, Julian, Pretheeva and children.

An angel in our midst...
I have never seen angels. The only living proof are people who unexpectedly walk into your life and make such a big impact, makes you wonder if these were the ones God spoke about. Sheila was easily qualified to be one.
When I heard the news that she no longer was with us and made her journey back home, I wish I could hear her once again say that phrase she famously used before she started a sentence "Here now...."
She was bountiful in every sense...in her love, grace, generosity and that open smile she never could hide. I recall the numerous conversations we had at home over nothings, the meals we exchanged..not to forget, that for all the three Christmas seasons I spent in Colombo, she decorated the place I occupied. We are not related, we weren't friends before, yet, she was overwhelmingly kind and loving.
If there was an undisputed aspect of her, it was the radiance of God in her life. She knew she was God's child, she knew she was heaven bound, she had a happy spirit inside - that the most important question in life was answered - Jesus!
I consider it a privilege to have known Sheila and Shelton-my only family in Colombo. They are a blessing and am grateful to God to have shown me angels, sprinkled with a little bit of heaven.
I consider Shelton & Sheila as my own. May God give strength to Shelton for the years ahead, I pray that heaven would envelop him with a blanket of love, comfort in the nights, memories to overcome the loss and grace for the journey through time.
I will miss Sheila, anyone who came close to her will feel the same, we will all miss her, till we see her again.
I can almost hear her whisper - "Here now.....I am home, see you there".
Love & prayers
John

To know Sheila was to love her. The outpourings of love for Shiela from around the world is testament to the wonderful person she was to many. She was truly a rare soul that embodied caring and empathy, and I was one of the people lucky enough to have known her.
I met her eight years ago when I moved to Doha and formed a close friendship that was bonded by a mutual faith in God and family values. We have shared many of life’s triumphs and tribulations together. She was a staunch, unwavering friend, always inclusive and up for a celebration.
While there are no words to describe the pain of the loss ; Derek and I have such lovely memories to hold on to, of time spent with both Sheila and Shelton and this gives us comfort. Sheila was a positive person who would want us to celebrate her life which was surrounded with love. The sadness of endings will not overshadow the wonderful and vibrant life that was lived to the fullest!
Our love and prayers go out to Shelton, Shannon, Sharon and the family.

I woke up to a message from Josh, Sheila’s brother, that Sheila had passed away that day after a courageous four week battle with an aggressive pancreatic cancer.
Sheila, a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and beloved friend. A genuinely amazing person, a classy lady ❤️
I remembered our days at CNAQ / Registrar Office fondly, especially the beautiful atmosphere of love and friendship that Sheila created❤️ Morning tea and a cheerful chat about our kids was always a beautiful start to my day with Sheila. We came to know Shelton too, a loving and caring husband.
Through her stories of her grandchildren I know she was the most loving and devoted grandmother too.
Sheila had a happy, joyous spirit that that could not help but make everyone around her happy too. ❤️
My most sincere condolences to Shelton, Sharon , Shannon, Josh and the family

Some truth in life are hard to accept, life has shown us again It’s hurtful side by taking you away from us when we didn’t see it coming.... only if I could have you back just for a little while, then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. Those special memories, your smile and cheerful laughter will always be with us, and will always bring me a smile.
You touched our lives in a very special way, you are so much like a Mum to me, and I’m eternally grateful for everything you did.
