Laura, I just found out about your Dad today..
He would always send me copies of his photographs.. I remember him from when I first moved to Ottawa, Donna became my guide to the city. You and my son Stephen were friends for a while. [ you were both so young] and I knew you all because of of your mother. visiting your home, the celebrations we all attended and after the passing of your Mother. you had amazing parents...
He is missed, I've been trying to find out what happened when his emails stopped coming..
So very sorry for the deep hole his passing has caused you and your sister Ashley.
much love

Joe and I were best friends at Waterloo. I just read of his passing in the Waterloo magazine. I well remember his SS396 that was very modified and very fast. Once he put a $20 bill on the dash and said if I could grab it when he stepped on the gas I could have it. Didn't get it. I also remember lots of nights sweating over assignments. I lost touch with Joe after graduation, but tried to find him via the internet a couple of times. Sorry for you loss.

So sad Laura,
Our deepest sympathies to your family during this difficult time.
Joe was an amazing man and so giving of his time to care for others.
I spoke to Joe just on April 22nd Monday afternoon at 1:47pm and in his usual self was always jovial and caring and so professional in managing our family’s bookkeeping needs for the past plus 20 years.
He was the consummate perfectionist and did amazing work.
If you need anything at all please let us know.
Prayerfully yours,
Normand, Catherine & Lukas Haas

Dear Ashley and Laura,
Your Dad came into my life as my bookkeeper when I began consulting at the turn of the century. He did so much more than keep my books. He kept me organized and on track down to the smallest detail. As you know, he could tell you how much change was in his pockets down to the penny. With his weekly spreadsheets, he tried to do the same for me and I think my scatterbrained approach to business was a source of frustration to him. You'd never know, though, because he was so patient and gentle in his admonishments.
Every Saturday, Joe and Ashley dropped by my home to pick up an envelope of papers and drop off anything I might need to deal with. In summer, the deep rumble of the bright blue Corvette announced your arrival. I watched, Ashley, as you grew into a young woman chauffeured in the passenger seat of your Dad's ride-of-the-day. He was so proud of your accomplishments in textile arts and sent me dozens of photos of your work. Keep it up!
Your Dad touched everyone he met with a gentle but enduring fingerprint. I will celebrate his life and raise a toast to a fine man. Thank you for sharing him with me.

Dear Laura and Ashley,
Your dad was kind, smart and true gentleman. I am honoured to have had a chance to get to know him with his several trips to Alberta. I’m so glad he got to share special times with Laura, her horses and her dogs. It brought so much joy to his eyes. He love you both so much, you can tell by how he would puff up when he was around you both. He was so proud.
We will be thinking of you both on Wednesday. Hugs and kisses.
Simone and Bruce.
